Elon Musk confirms he is considering merging Tesla and SpaceX
21 Oct 19:42
Musk says special committees within both companies have been formed to look at a possible mega-merger.
This line is Day Square’s own note, added so the page is not only a headline. BBC placed the item on the World wire at 21 Oct 19:42. The headline reads: Elon Musk confirms he is considering merging Tesla and SpaceX. The paragraph above is the whole text that came with it. No name, figure, or quote was added.
The paragraph above is the short note BBC sent on its World wire. Day Square does not copy another newsroom’s full article. The sheet keeps the headline, that note, a photo when the wire sent one, and the link. The full story is at Read the original, on that newsroom’s own page.
Day Square is one English sheet a day for Australia. Australia takes ABC, Guardian Australia, SBS, the Sydney Morning Herald, and the Canberra Times. A foreign story filed by one of those newsrooms still sits under Australia. World is BBC, SBS World, and Guardian World. Australia and World are the same hour of the paper.
Latest is arrival order. Desk is where a story is added by hand, and where the front and the hidden items are chosen. The wires are read about every 30 minutes. A photo is shown only when the wire sent one. The number on the blue band is the number of stories on the sheet. Hidden stories are not counted.
The front is a grid. A story Desk pins is marked front and sits first. The line under a wire note names only the source, the time, and the headline. From this paragraph down is Day Square’s own note, put here for now to fill the page. It is not the body of the lead above. The pictures below belong to other stories that arrived in this issue.
